Wrexham AFC’s trophy history is full of early titles having enjoyed success during their infant years. A clutch of leagues and cups also feature on the list of how many titles they have won.

The Racecourse Ground side burst out of the gates as one of the best football clubs in Wales in the late 19th century. Manager Phil Parkinson has also now helped to bring silverware to Wrexham again after Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds became the owners of Wrexham.

Wrexham AFC have won seven league titles

Parkinson added a seventh league title to Wrexham’s trophy history in 2022/23 after guiding the Red Dragons to the National League championship. The Racecourse Ground natives won the non-league division to secure their return to the English Football League after 15 years.

Wrexham first added a league title to their list of trophies in 1894/95 with the Welsh League. They would also go on to defend their title and became a dominant force in the Combination League from 1900 to 1905. Wrexham lifted the league title four times in just five campaigns.

Wrexham AFC have won a record 23 Welsh Cups

Wrexham’s trophy history also features a record 23 titles in the Welsh Cup but they have not won the competition since 1994/95. The Red Dragons also won the inaugural edition of the tournament in 1877/78. It further marked their first campaign in an organised competition.

The Red Dragons have won a record five FAW Premier Cups

Along with winning a record 23 Welsh Cups, Wrexham’s list of trophies also features a record five FAW Premier Cup titles. The Red Dragons were a dominant force in the competition that ran from 1997 to 2008. Only Swansea City also lifted the cup multiple times with two titles.

The Red Dragons won the Football League North Cup once

The Football League ran two temporary divisions during WWII, split between northern and southern teams. Wrexham competed in the northern edition and also won the trophy once.

Wrexham AFC have won the Football League Trophy once

Wrexham AFC’s lengthy period as a lower-league professional team saw the club compete in the English Football League Trophy on several occasions following its formation in 1981. But the Red Dragons have only won the title available to third and fourth-tier teams once so far.

After bowing out of the Football League in 2008, Wrexham AFC also began playing in the FA Trophy. The 2008/09 season also marked the start of the competition only being available to teams in steps 1-4 of the National League system. Wrexham reached three finals in 15 years.
