First-Team Squad

Wrexham AFC’s first-team squad has been built for the 2025/26 season, with the club owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac forking out big money to give Phil Parkinson the strength-in-depth needed to compete in the Championship.

Wrexham AFC Goalkeepers

Arthur Okonkwo

Arthur Okonkwo initially joined Wrexham AFC on loan from Arsenal to gain further experience in a first-team squad in September 2023. Phil Parkinson struck a deal to keep the goalkeeper at the club on a permanent deal in the summer of 2024, with Okonkwo putting pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Danny Ward

Danny Ward rejoined his hometown club Wrexham ahead of the 2025/26 Championship campaign, adding valuable top-level experience to the squad.

Callum Burton

Callum Burton joined The Red Dragons in July 2024, following the expiration of his Plymouth Argyle deal. He will likely rival Arthur Okonkwo for the number-one spot.

Wrexham AFC Defenders

Eoghan O’Connell

Charlton Athletic sold Eoghan O’Connell to Wrexham AFC in January 2023. The Republic of Ireland national also scored on his debut for the Red Dragons in a 2-1 win over Altrincham.

Jacob Mendy (on loan at Peterborough United)

Jacob Mendy left Boreham Wood to join Wrexham AFC’s first-team squad with a three-year contract in 2022. The Red Dragons sought the Spaniard’s signature to plug a variety of roles. Mendy, a former Atletico Madrid youth talent, can operate anywhere on the left-hand flank.

Liberato Cacace

Wrexham made a £4m splash to sign highly-rated wing-back Liberato Cacace during the summer 2025 transfer window. He looks set to be a key player for Phil Parkinson’s side during their maiden Championship campaign.

Max Cleworth

Max Cleworth joined the Wrexham AFC first-team squad from the 2019/20 season following a spell with their academy. The centre-back joined the Red Dragons whilst 12 years old after stints at Frodsham and Connah’s Quay. He got his first professional contract in August 2020.

Aaron James

Wrexham AFC gave Aaron James his first professional contract in December 2021 after just four months as a scholar. He joined the Red Dragons aged 16 and impressed straight away.

Conor Coady

One of the marquee signings of the 2025 summer transfer window for Wrexham, former England international Conor Coady has slotted in as a leader at the heart of Parkinson’s defence at the start of 2025/26.

Dan Scarr

Dan Scarr joined Wrexham following three impressive years at Championship side Plymouth Argyle. The former Walsall man is expected to provide some much-needed experience and steel to Phil Parkinson’s backline.

Dominic Hyam

Dominic Hyam was a deadline day signing on 1st September 2025, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal at Wrexham.

Wrexham AFC Midfielders

Ben Sheaf

A late deadline day signing in the 2025 summer transfer window, Ben Sheaf will provide Wrexham much-needed Championship experience and quality in the heart of the midfield.

Josh Windass

Having left Sheffield Wednesday as a free agent, attacking midfielder Josh Windass signed for Wrexham in July 2025. He scored the first goal of the 2025/26 Championship season for his new club.

Matty James

The veteran midfielder joined Wrexham as a free agent in October 2024, having been without a club since his contract expired at Bristol City at the end of the 2023/24 season. After initially only signing a short-term deal at Wrexham, James has impressed so much that he’s already earned himself a multi-year extension.

Andy Cannon

Phil Parkinson looked to add a wealth of EFL experience to Wrexham AFC’s first-team squad in December 2022 by signing Andy Cannon from Hull City. The ex-Rochdale and Portsmouth midfielder had also helped Stockport County win the 2021/22 National League title on loan.

Tom O’Connor

Wrexham AFC completed a deadline day transfer to sign Tom O’Connor from Burton Albion in January 2022. The versatile Irishman, who can also play in defence, agreed on a contract until June 2025 with the Red Dragons. He made his debut with Wrexham at Torquay United.

James McClean

Wrexham AFC raided Wigan Athletic in August 2023 to agree on the statement transfer of James McClean. The Ireland international left the Latics for £250k after playing 46 matches in the 2022/23 Championship campaign. He has played 158 career Premier League games.

Ryan Barnett

Ryan Barnett left Solihull Moors for Wrexham AFC’s first-team squad in February 2023 on a contract through to the summer of 2025. The former Shrewsbury Town, Telford United and Gloucester City defender made his Red Dragons debut in a 2-2 draw at Maidenhead United.

George Thomason

The Bolton captain made the move up a division to join Wrexham in the 2025 summer transfer window, joining to provide depth in midfield for the Welsh outfit.

Elliot Lee

Elliot Lee joined Wrexham AFC’s first-team squad as a free agent in 2022 upon leaving Luton Town. The West Ham United product spent the prior 16 months on loan with Oxford United and Charlton Athletic. He scored 12 goals in 45 games to win the 22/23 National League title.

Issa Kabore

Issa Kabore joined Wrexham on loan from Manchester City on the final day of the 2025 summer transfer window, and will provide competition at the right wing-back position.

Oliver Rathbone

Oliver Rathbone joined The Red Dragons after a three-year spell with Rotherham United. The Manchester United academy graduate is expected to provide some quality in the middle of the park.

George Dobson

Signed following his release from Charlton Athletic, George Dobson will bring some quality and toughness to the Wrexham midfield. The defensive midfielder is vastly experienced within the EFL, having spent time at the likes of Sunderland and AFC Wimbledon.

Sebastian Revan

Sebastian Revan learned his trade at Aston Villa also spending time out on loan at the likes of Hereford and Rotherham. The wide-man arrived at the Racecourse Ground for an undisclosed fee.

Harry Ashfield

Harry Ashfield made the jump up the Wrexham first-team at the start of the 2024/25 season. The youngster is very highly rated at the club, winning the 2023/24 Bob Clark Academy trophy.

Wrexham AFC Forwards

Kieffer Moore

The new main man up top for Wrexham is Kieffer Moore. The striker, signed during the 2025 summer window, has immediately become a fan favourite at the Racecourse Ground thanks to his eye for goal and ability to hold up the ball.

Paul Mullin (on loan at Wigan Athletic)

Litherland native Paul Mullin has established himself as a modern-day Wrexham AFC legend. The striker hit 38 goals in 46 games to fire the Red Dragons to the 2022/23 National League title. He also left Cambridge United for free as the 2020/21 League Two Player of the Season.

Sam Smith

Wrexham forked out a then-club record £2m to sign striker Sam Smith from Reading late in the winter transfer window.

Smith came to the club in fine-form, having netted 26 League One goals across one-and-a-half seasons at Reading.

Ryan Hardie

One of the first signings of what ended up being a remarkably busy 2025 summer window, Ryan Hardie joined from Plymouth Argyle after seven successful seasons at the Devon-based club.

Mo Faal (on loan at Port Vale)

Mo Faal is a product of the West Brom academy and joined Wrexham from the Baggies in August 2024. The Gambian forward has previously plied his trade for Doncaster Rovers and Walsall on loan.

James Rainbird

James Rainbird was promoted to Phil Parkinson’s first-team squad alongside Callum Edwards. The youngster has also plied his trade for Crewe Alexandra.

The wide player was sent out on loan to Newton in order to get some first team football under his belt in January.

Ryan Longman

One of Wrexham’s big signings of the 2025 winter transfer window, Ryan Longman joined from Hull City to provide some added threat in the final third.

He bagged an assist in his second game for the club.

Jay Rodriguez

A surprise signing late in the winter window, veteran forward Jay Rodriguez joined Wrexham from Burnley on a 18-month contract.

Rodriguez comes with a wealth of Premier League and Championship experience under his belt.
