Wrexham secured a vital three points as they overcame fellow promotion chasers Huddersfield Town.
In a game of very few chances, Ollie Rathbone once again starred in the Wrexham player ratings as he produced the moment of magic to win the game.
Rathbone’s wonderful cross was met by Sam Smith and he saw his header parried out for the substitute Steven Fletcher to score yet another winning goal this season.
Phil Parkinson’s men remain two points behind Wycombe in the League One table but have now opened up a four point cushion over Stockport in fourth position. However, despite the win, Wrexham fans are not happy with one player in particular.

Wrexham fans give verdict on latest Jay Rodriguez performance
Wrexham fans have not been impressed by January signing Jay Rodriguez since his arrival at the Racecourse Ground.
Rodriguez failed to have an impact on the game yet again and some Wrexham fans have taken to X to voice their disapproval, one fan wrote: “Time will tell but I’m really struggling with the Jay Rodriguez signing and what he gives us.”
Another Wrexham fan wrote: “Rodriguez is simply not up to it unfortunately, time for a change Parky.”
There were yet more shouts for Paul Mullin to come back into the squad, one fan wrote: “Phil please balance your attack, one old signing one new, Mulls and Rodriguez could work well.”
Phil Parkinson needs to consider the balance of his attack
Since joining Wrexham in January, Smith and Rodriguez have one goal between them in the six games they have started together.
The partnership is not working and both players are leaving themselves isolated with their movement, Rodriguez is coming too deep and Smith is making the wrong runs at the wrong time.

It does feel as though it is crying out for Parkinson to have a ‘little and large’ combination up top with Mullin or Jack Marriott the likely candidates to partner one of Smith or Rodriguez.
Rodriguez has vowed to improve after his poor start in a Red Dragons shirt but the Wrexham manager cannot afford to allow much more time for his striker to fire.
