Wrexham will play their first home game of the season at the Racecourse Ground on Tuesday when they host Hull City in the EFL Cup first round.
Phil Parkinson’s men were beaten in heartbreaking fashion by Southampton in their first Championship game of 2025/26 at the weekend, conceding two late goals to the former Premier League side in a 2-1 defeat.
Despite that disappointment, Parkinson and Wrexham fans alike will have taken plenty of positives from what was an impressive performance at St. Mary’s.
They’ll be hoping to take those positives into their performance against fellow Championship outfit Hull City in the first round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening.

Wrexham team news vs Hull City
Wrexham have, rather worryingly, been forced to contend with a number of injury concerns already this season.
Parkinson went into the game against Southampton at the weekend being unable to call upon new signing George Thomason due to a thigh injury, as well as stars of the 2024/25 campaign Ollie Rathbone and Jay Rodriguez. The former, in particular, has been a big loss for Wrexham, with Rathbone suffering an ankle ligament injury during pre-season.
New striker Kieffer Moore, who earned a 9/10 for his debut efforts on Saturday, looks set for a spell on the sidelines too after it was confirmed that he suffered an ankle ligament injury.
All four of these players are unlikely to be available for selection again on Tuesday evening.
