Wrexham must look to keep Dan Kemp quiet this evening as Phil Parkinson prepares to take on Milton Keynes Dons.

It’s a big evening for Wrexham with Milton Keynes Dons awaiting.

Two wins in a row have given Wrexham renewed hope of an automatic promotion push, beating Sutton United and Notts County.

This is one of Wrexham’s games in hand over Crewe and a win would be enormous.

A tricky game awaits though as MK Dons are sitting in fifth and will be desperate for a win themselves in order to pull the automatic spots in.

Mike Williamson’s side have some quality players and Phil Parkinson will be well aware of Dan Kemp’s quality.

Dan Kemp needs to be shut down

Ahead of facing Notts County, Parkinson paid specific attention to Jodi Jones.

The Athletic suggest that much of Friday’s pre-game session was centred around stopping Jones.

County’s creative force was the clear danger man with 20 assists so far this season and Wrexham wanted to nullify him.

Jones had his moments but wasn’t able to register a single key pass, which Parkinson will surely consider as a job well done.

Well, Parkinson may need to take a similar approach ahead of facing MK Dons with Dan Kemp the man to worry about.

We have already seen it this season.

Kemp spent the first half of this season on loan at Swindon Town and terrorised Wrexham back in August.

The former West Ham United talent set up a Charlie Austin goal with a fine cross before buying a left-footed strike beyond Ben Foster.

Kemp repeated the trick in the second half, shaping onto his brilliant left foot to beat Foster with a low strike.

Recalled by MK Dons in January after a ridiculous record of 14 goals and eight assists in 25 Swindon games, Kemp is now ready to face Wrexham again.

Wrexham may have drawn that Swindon game 5-5, but Parkinson cannot afford to see Kemp run riot again and he will need to be nullified just as Jones was on Saturday.
