Wrexham have automatic promotion to the Championship back in their control after beating Blackpool 2-1 on Monday afternoon.
Fans were in despondent mood over the weekend as Wrexham drew 1-1 with Bristol Rovers.
The Pirates were on a six-game losing run in League One and Wrexham’s inability to secure all three points raised questions marks over the promotion push.
Wycombe Wanderers’ win over Bolton Wanderers meant Wrexham slipped down to third ahead of a crucial trip to Blackpool.
This was a fantastic trip to the seaside, though, as Wrexham beat Blackpool 2-1 to reclaim second place.
As Wycombe were hammered by Charlton Athletic, Wrexham claimed all three points thanks to goals from James McClean and Ollie Rathbone.

Rob McElhenney reacts to Wrexham victory
Blackpool grabbed a late consolation but Wrexham saw the game out to claim an enormous victory.
Wrexham now lead Wycombe by two points with just two games to play – though Charlton visit the STōK Cae Ras this weekend.
Promotion is in Wrexham’s hands once more and Rob McElhenney had a great view of Monday’s action.
McElhenney jetted into North Wales on Friday, but was no doubt frustrated as Wrexham failed to beat Bristol Rovers.
McElhenney decided to mix it with the travelling Wrexham fans on Monday, watching the game from the away end at Bloomfield Road.
Wrexham co-owner McElhenney took to his Instagram story after the final whistle, simply stating ‘great game, great crowd’.
McElhenney clearly loved his afternoon with the Wrexham faithful, and will be delighted to have cheered Phil Parkinson’s side on to victory.
Phil Parkinson on Rob McElhenney chat
McElhenney’s visit means Wrexham players have been given an opportunity to speak to the Wrexham co-owner.
Boss Parkinson told Wrexham’s official YouTube channel that McElhenney went and spoke to the Wrexham players ahead of facing Blackpool.
McElhenney praised the Wrexham squad for what they have already achieved this season, and Parkinson believes those words were well-received by his players.
“The togetherness of this club is second to none, and that starts from the owners,” said Parkinson.
“Rob was in yesterday, having a chat with the lads, just explaining how well they’ve done and what his perception of the situation was, and the lads listened and enjoyed speaking to our owner, as they did when Ryan came over a couple of weeks ago,” he added.
Wrexham now face Charlton Athletic on Saturday in the final home game of the season, before heading to Lincoln City on the final day of the season.
Wycombe’s defeat to Charlton means Wrexham have promotion in their hands, and this win over Blackpool will leave fans dreaming of Championship football once again.
