Wrexham fans all in agreement about Ryan Longman after Stoke City, ‘I just don’t think…’

Wrexham fans have been left questioning Ryan Longman’s abilities following the 1-0 Championship defeat against Stoke City.

Ryan Longman has been Wrexham’s starting left-back in the absence of summer signing Liberato Cacace. But Cacace has returned to action for Wrexham and now it looks as though Longman is on borrowed time.

Phil Parkinson opted with Longman from the off against Stoke City but his poor first half and overall performance, combined with an open goal miss has left fans wanting change.

Ryan Longman’s stats for Wrexham against Stoke City

Longman chipped in defensively on Saturday with seven defensive actions in the end (third most of any Wrexham player), including five clearances and two interceptions.

But he barely got himself on the ball, ending the game with 14 passes compared to Cacace’s 13 after he replaced Longman midway through the second half.

Cacace brought much more momentum to that left hand side and it looks inevitable that Parkinson will now opt for Cacace in that position going forward.

Wrexham fans unimpressed with Ryan Longman after Stoke City

“Cacace in for Longman,” posted one Wrexham supporter at half-time, as another added: “Longman been the weak link so far. Cacace on at half-time.”

Another Wrexham fan wrote: “Longman beaten again. I just don’t think he’s up to it,” as this similar comment read: “Longman is out of his depth in the Championship.”

A lengthier post read: “Longman needs to come out. He’s getting beat on the left side. He’s getting balls taken from him to easily, and not passing it out when he has a chance to. Not to mention missing an open goal.”
