Wrexham predicted XI, team and injury news as Luke Bolton starts v MK Dons

Wrexham are on the road tonight as Phil Parkinson takes his side to face Milton Keynes Dons away from home.

Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Notts County has helped Wrexham build some momentum as it’s now two wins inside of a week.

A trip to face MK Dons is a tricky one though as they sit with in the League Two table.

Mike Williamson’s side have won nine of the last 13 games and a win for them would really put them into the mix for a promotion spot.

Phil Parkinson will be preparing for a real battle and he will be weighing up changes from Saturday’s side…

Wrexham’s predicted XI vs Milton Keynes Dons

The goalkeeping spot is a fairly easy one.

Arthur Okonkwo has been superb of late and, barring any late injury or illness, he will surely start against the Dons.

There will be a back three ahead of Okonkwo and it’s hard to imagine too many changes.

Max Cleworth, Eoghan O’Connell and Will Boyle were outstanding against Notts County and will be looking to keep their places.

Ryan Barnett sadly picked up an injury against Notts County and is subsequently a doubt for tonight’s game.

Luckily, Parkinson has another fine option at right wing back with Luke Bolton primed to step in.

James McClean put in a real shift on Saturday and will likely go again, but Jacob Mendy will be knocking on the door.

Andy Cannon should start in midfield but James Jones will need a late check after an injury against Notts County.

With George Evans battling against injury too, Luke Young could come into the side whilst Elliot Lee will be looking to go again despite looking tired towards the end of Saturday’s win.

Steven Fletcher will likely be called upon again tonight but his partner is in question with Paul Mullin enduring a tricky spell.

Jack Marriott started against Sutton United last week and Parkinson may be tempted to get him back into the side tonight.

This one is difficult to predict with so many knocks and doubts in the squad but Parkinson certainly still has options at his disposal for a tricky evening.

Predicted Wrexham XI (5-3-2): Okonkwo; Bolton, Cleworth, O’Connell, Boyle, McClean; Cannon, Young, Lee; Fletcher, Marriott.
