Wrexham have pulled off a huge 1-0 win over Notts County – and results elsewhere in League Two have gone perfectly this afternoon.
Phil Parkinson’s men got back on track in midweek, beating Sutton United thanks to a late Elliot Lee goal.
Wrexham took that victory into today’s game and made it two wins in a row with a narrow home victory over Notts County.
Steven Fletcher’s goal was enough to secure the victory, volleying into the roof of the net to seal all three points.
A win over Notts County will always be a source of real delight after the famous battle between the two clubs last season.
This victory feels like a particularly big one though – especially with results elsewhere going Wrexham’s way…
Wrexham rivals slip up
The first boost came from Gresty Road as Crewe Alexandra could only manage a 0-0 draw against Harrogate Town.
Despite 18 shots on goal, Crewe just couldn’t find a winner against a Harrogate side who only managed one shot in the entire game.
That draw has allowed Wrexham to leapfrog Crewe into third place in League Two – and the results above Wrexham have gone very well too.
Second-placed Mansfield Town fell to defeat at Walsall, leaving Wrexham just two points behind the Stags with a game in hand.

We also saw Stockport County suffer a shock hammering, losing 4-0 away at 17th-placed Tranmere Rovers.
That is now two defeats in a row for County and Wrexham are just three points behind whilst having played a game fewer.
Wrexham moving back into the automatic promotion spots is brilliant news anyway, but seeing others slip up just make it even better.
Wrexham have moved past a sticky period of form and now have renewed hope of promotion and possibly even a title win having capitalised on rival slip-ups.
