Wrexham take on Mansfield tonight in yet another League 1 clash for the Red Dragons.

Phil Parkinson‘s side will be looking to get back to winning ways after his side now remain winless in the last two fixtures.

Following the 5-0 drubbing at Stockport County, Wrexham played host to Crewe Alexandra at the Racecourse ground, in an enthralling encounter which ended 3-3.

One of the goalscorers in that game was newly signed Steven Fletcher, who has taken a claim to be within a chance for a first start at the club since his arrival against Mansfield.

Steven Fletcher to start against Mansfield?

The Scotland international has made four substitute appearances since arriving and finally opened his account with a last-minute equaliser in Saturday’s 3-3 home draw with Crewe.

The goal was well taken by Fletcher, who has an extensive history within English football of knowing where the back of the net is.

With Parkinson’s side looking to get back to winning ways, could the veteran forward be granted his first start? We believe so.

Fletchers deserves a chance to show what he’s made of from the off, plus it gives a chance for some much-needed rotation with the games coming thick and fast.

But with who?

We’d like to see Fletcher start with Paul Mullin.

The English goal-scoring machine is back with a bang for the Red Dragons. He got two goals on Saturday to open his account for the season.

Fletcher holds Mullin in high regard. Speaking to club media after the fixture, the Scotsman had the following to say about his strike partner.

“I have played with a lot of good strikers and Paul’s finishing is second to none,” said Fletcher.

“Left foot, right foot, it doesn’t matter where it lands for him, he will hit the target and I am delighted for him to get off the mark this season.”

It remains to be seen as to who will start tonight – but this partnership could be deadly.
