Wrexham may look to continue their spending in summer transfer window ahead of the 2024/25 League One campaign.

It has been a busy summer for Wrexham with manager Phil Parkinson keen to improve the quality of his squad.

Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are keen to provide Parkinson with the signings he needs.

The Red Dragons have secured five new players in the summer window so far.

George Dobson, Callum Burton, and Aston Villa gem Sebastian Revan have recently signed in North Wales. With goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo and Leicester City defender Lewis Brunt joining the club earlier this summer.

After the recent injury blow to key man Paul Mullin, the former Sunderland manager has been linked with potential attacking options.

After a successful loan spell with Okonkwo last campaign, Wrexham may return to the Premier League for a loan move with interest in Tottenham Hotspur striker Will Lankshear to solve the Mullin issue.

However, the Red Dragons will face tough competition for the loan signing of Lankshear with Championship sides Sunderland and Hull City also keen on the Tottenham youngster.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou hails Wrexham target Will Lankshear

If Wrexham were able to secure the loan signing of Lankshear it would be shrewd business with the Premier League youngster rated highly at the North London club.

The young striker featured in Tottenham’s pre-season friendly fixture against Scottish side Hearts. The 19-year-old managed to impress and score a goal in the 5-1 victory.

After the game, in Ange Postecoglou’s press conference, the Spurs manager was full of praise for the academy star.

Postecoglou said: “Will was good. We kind of brought him in this last week. He’s looked bright in training.

“He worked hard. He’s had a very good year last year and it’s about rewarding him for that.

“It’s about coming in and making an impact. He did well and he took his goal well.”

Spurs are set to take on QPR this weekend and Lankshear could look to impress his potential loan suitors in facing quality championship opposition.

Will Lankshear would be strong option for Wrexham attack

Wrexham does have a crowded striking department with many players available to Parkinson.

Mullin is set to miss the start of the League One campaign, but his absence isn’t expected to be long-term with an aim for him to return relatively early in the coming season.

The former Bradford City manager also has Ollie Palmer, Sam Dalby, Jack Marriott, and veteran Steven Fletcher in his striking ranks.

However, the North Wales club continue to be linked with attacking options, with an upgrade in attack a real option for the Red Dragons this summer.

If Lankshear was allowed to leave Tottenham on loan, it would provide a good opportunity for Wrexham.

The young striker would provide good competition among the Red Dragons’ ranks as he pushes to impress.

Strong Championship interest in the young English forward shows that there is an expectation that he can impress at that level.

If the owners were able to convince the young man to join the Wrexham journey for a year and look to Okonkwo’s loan experience as an example, Lankshear could have a good chance at settling at the Racecourse and being an impressive loan signing for the coming season.
