Wrexham will be back in League One next season but all of the focus for the promotion-winning players has been on Las Vegas of late.
It’s not often fans or players are able to celebrate back-to-back promotions.
Few clubs have ever even experienced it, so Wrexham are in esteemed company.
Wrexham secured promotion to League One in April, less than a year since heading up from the National League to League Two.
Phil Parkinson has helped Wrexham accelerate rapidly and the boss is now preparing for life in League One.
This won’t be easy; the jump to League One will be a hefty one and Wrexham will now be battling the likes of Birmingham City in the third tier.
Work on summer signings is no doubt ongoing but Wrexham players have been celebrating out in Las Vegas once again.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds paid for Wrexham players to celebrate over in Vegas last year and have repeated the trick after another promotion.
Andy Cannon on Wrexham’s Las Vegas trip
Last year’s trip became the stuff of legend and it looks like the Wrexham squad have had a great time once again.
Midfielder Andy Cannon has now taken to Instagram to share some of his favourite photos from the trip to Nevada.
Cannon’s pictures show him celebrating alongside Elliot Lee in one photo, and alongside George Evans, Paul Mullin and James McClean in another.
We also saw a group shot of the Wrexham squad, even including some players who are leaving the club this summer, such as Callum McFadzean.
Cannon captioned all of these photos with just one word – ‘special’.
It’s clear that the Wrexham squad really appreciate the gesture from McElhenney and Reynolds and have really enjoyed their time in America.
These kind of moments really strengthen the bond throughout the club; from the owners to the players and through to the fans.
Wrexham appear to be a united unit right now and the players will be hoping to earn another trip to Vegas in the near future.
Derby County star spotted with Cannon
One face in Cannon’s photos may have seemed a little unfamiliar.
Cannon posed with Steven Fletcher and another player, who appears to be Derby County’s Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.
Some of the Derby squad are also out in Las Vegas right now and Mendez-Laing spent time with the Wrexham boys.
Mendez-Laing actually knows Cannon and Fletcher from earlier in his career.
The winger played alongside Cannon at Rochdale and Fletcher at Wolverhampton Wanderers, so they were able to have a catch-up in Vegas.
Derby’s promotion to the Championship means that Mendez-Laing won’t be facing Wrexham next season, but may actually be cheering on Cannon and Fletcher from afar.
