Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo now boasts the highest save percentage of any goalkeeper in the top four leagues of English football.
Wrexham claimed a win on Saturday afternoon, beating Accrington Stanley 4-0 at the Racecourse.
Paul Mullin’s hat-trick was of course the big success story from Saturday’s win as he rediscovered his scoring touch.
Goals will always make the headlines but we also saw Arthur Okonkwo keep another clean sheet.
Okonkwo has now bagged 10 clean sheets this season, just three behind League Two leader Christy Pym of Mansfield Town.
Arsenal loanee Okonkwo continues to shine and we are now seeing more stats about his brilliance in the Wrexham goal.

Those numbers show Okonkwo with a save percentage of 78.7%, ahead of Coventry City’s Bradley Collins, Crawley Town’s Corey Addai, Lincoln City’s Lukas Jensen and even Liverpool superstar Alisson.

Their numbers show Okonkwo as the top goalkeeper with a stunning 80% save percentage.
Alphonse Areola, Alisson, Bradley Collins, Max O’Leary, Liam Roberts, Lukas Jensen, Will Norris, Nathan Baxter, Max Crocombe, Jackson Smith and Corey Addai are the only goalkeepers within 5% of Okonkwo by their statistics.
We are seeing Okonkwo turn in brilliant performances on a weekly basis and his importance cannot be overstated.
Okonkwo has made himself one of Wrexham’s top transfer priorities this summer and stats like these may only increase interest rom a number of other clubs – possible above Wrexham in the English football pyramid.
We will trust Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds to really push for this deal come the summer, and we can only hope to see Okonkwo in a Wrexham shirt for years to come.
