Ben Foster has shared some Wrexham dressing room secrets this week.

The former goalkeeper, of course, enjoyed a brief but prolific spell at Wrexham a few years ago.

Ben Foster was signed towards the end of the 2022/23 season when the club were aiming to win promotion from the National League.

The former Watford man was instantly put straight into the team and was crucial to them escaping the fifth tier after a 15-year spell.

Now, the ex-goalkeeper has returned to the club as a host of their new podcast, That Wrexham Podcast.

Ben Foster shares bizarre Wrexham fine

Foster is co-hosting the podcast alongside another former player, Ben Tozer.

Their first episode was an interview with the currently injured Andy Cannon.

During the episode, Cannon discussed his injury and revealed what Ryan Reynolds did for him after he suffered the long-term blow.

Elsewhere in the show, Foster revealed the ‘biggest fine’ Wrexham players can receive this year.

He said: “We were in the changing rooms yesterday and we saw the current fines list and one of the fines that’s on there is not turning up for the Christmas do and it’s the biggest fine on the list.

“It’s a £500 fine for not turning up to a Christmas do.”

Why did Ben Foster leave Wrexham?

After helping the club win National League promotion, Foster signed a contract extension.

He began the 2023/24 season as their number one goalkeeper in League Two.

However, Foster confirmed his retirement from football in August 2023, citing his form as a driving factor.

He said: “The honest truth is that my performances this season haven’t reached the level I demand of myself and I feel that now is the right time to retire.

“At the forefront of my mind when making this decision, was not only what was best for me but also the Club, and making the decision now gives the Club every opportunity to assess their options before the window closes.

“Wrexham will always have a special place in my heart.”
