Wrexham defender, Eoghan O’Connell has showered teammate, Elliot Lee with praise following his performances in recent weeks.
It has been a great season for Wrexham, one which has only gotten better in recent weeks. This as they have recorded three wins in just ten days.
The form shown by Phil Parkinson’s side in this season has followed on from the rest of his tenure for the Reds. From National League promotion to a potential League Two top-two place being up for grabs, there is plenty to be positive about.
This season has seen many standout names who have maintained that form throughout the season. Last time out James McClean was on top of his game and scored the goal to secure all three points.
In recent weeks, Eoghan O’Connell has come back into the starting XI and has performed well and received praise. With that being said, it is the Irishman who has singled out another Wrexham star for their performances.
What has Eoghan O’Connell said about Elliot Lee?
It is safe to say that Elliot Lee has been one of the Reds’ most important players since signing from Luton Town last campaign.

Following 15 goals in the National League, he has added 13 goals and three assists in League Two, this time around. Without his impact, who knows where the Reds might be?
As a result of this, O’Connell has opened up to Leader Live about the impact and performances of his teammate.
On that, he said: “Elliot has been brilliant since I came here. His numbers for goals this year is unreal, it speaks for itself.
“He has got to be one of the best players in the league and we are really lucky to have players like him in our team. For us at the back, we know if we keep it tight the boys will score.”
This season the Reds have scored 47 with Lee being involved in 34% of those, the most in the Wrexham squad. On the flip side, they have conceded just 32, such has been the performances of the defensive line for the Reds.
Lee has helped form one of the best trios in the whole of the league. Alongside Andy Cannon and George Evans, with the Englishman being the attacking force. This has been key to the success of the club in recent months.
Long may the form of both Lee and O’Connell continue as Wrexham look to secure that promotion spot this campaign.
