Former Wrexham goalkeeper, Andy Dibble has revealed that Ryan Reynolds sent him a message when his son, Christian, departed the club.

Back in 2017, Wrexham signed Christian Dibble and he acted as competition for Rob Lainton during his time with the club.

The goalkeeper signed for Kidderminster Harriers in January of this year as he left Phil Parkinson’s side after six years.

Funnily enough, Dibble’s father, Andy, also played for the Reds. He featured for the club between 2002 and 2005 as he played a big role as promotion was secured.

He is now a coach at Accrington Stanley and has been speaking prior to his new side’s clash against his old.

What has Andy Dibble said about Ryan Reynolds?

With Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, Wrexham have found themselves great and very personable owners.

They care about the club, its players and the city as much as anybody so it won’t come as a surprise Reynolds sent a message to Dibble.

Speaking to Leader Live, Dibble has been speaking about Reynolds: “When Christian left Wrexham, Ryan sent me a private message on Twitter.

“It was fantastic and it made me feel so proud.”

Dibble had often played second fiddle to Lainton in his time with the Reds so it wasn’t a surprise he wanted a move away.

In a search for first-team football, the Englishman joined Kidderminster and immediately won the National League North play-offs.

Despite his success since leaving, his dad was delighted with Reynold’s message as it clearly meant a lot to him.

Expressing that, Dibble added: “Ryan was really kind, he thanked me for Christian’s service to Wrexham and talked about him as a goalkeeper. But more than anything, he said how proud I should be for bringing up a special son.

“It brought a bit of a tear to my eye really.”

Everybody knows from social media and ‘Welcome to Wrexham‘ what the Canadian is like and this doesn’t come as a surprise.

With that being said, Dibble said: “I didn’t expect somebody with his fame to message me but it meant so much to me, it was really special.”

A simple gesture from the Wrexham owner but it obviously meant so much to the former goalkeeper to hear.

Ryan and Rob continue to make fans proud of their club and they don’t show any sign of stopping.
