The 2024/25 season has inarguably been one of the greatest in Wrexham’s long footballing history.
Phil Parkinson’s team became the first club to secure back-to-back-to-back promotions in the EFL, rising up from National League to the Championship since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the Welsh outfit.
Wrexham secured automatic promotion by finishing second in League One – a whopping 18 places above where a supercomputer predicted Wrexham would finish at the start of the season – fending off stiff competition from Wycombe Wanderers and Charlton Athletic in order to do so.
The club’s vast overperformance during the 2024/25 season was made possible thanks to the wonderful form of a number of key players.

One such key player has been youngster Max Cleworth. The defender was a standout performer in Parkinson’s team, netting a thoroughly impressive seven goals in 42 League One appearances. Those performances rightfully led to Cleworth winning both the Players’ Player of the Season award and Young Player of the Season award at Wrexham.
