Wrexham hero Mickey Thomas is calling on full backing for manager Phil Parkinson after a patchy run of form.

Wrexham seemed to be in a good place after beating Notts County and taking a point away at Milton Keynes Dons.

However, defeat at Gillingham and a frustrating performance in the 1-1 draw at Forest Green Rovers left some fans a little worried.

Wrexham’s away form hasn’t been great this season and whilst few were really calling for Phil Parkinson to go, there were a few questions to be answered.

The main one was whether Wrexham had the goals and performances in them to get over the line and secure promotion to League one.

Well, Saturday’s 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley will hopefully set Wrexham on a real run of form to end the season.

Promotion is there for the taking and Mickey Thomas is backing Parkinson as the right man for the job…

Mickey Thomas backs Phil Parkinson

Speaking on social media ahead of Saturday’s win over Accrington, Thomas shared his thoughts on Parkinson.

The former Wrexham star suggested that Parkinson is a ‘top manager’ whose work at Wrexham has been simply ‘fantastic’.

Thomas added that Wrexham have a ‘great chance’ of automatic promotion and believes that positive results away from home will ultimately arrive soon.

Thomas wants to see everybody getting behind Parkinson for this final stretch of the season – something we certainly saw on Saturday.

Back-to-back promotions would be incredible but Wrexham will be in a strong position for next season even if promotion doesn’t come this season.

Parkinson has been there, seen it all and done it all at this level and we would love to see him being the man to guide Wrexham up the leagues.

A big few weeks are on the horizon and if Parkinson can produce a few days like Saturday, there could be a big party to come.
