Wrexham are enjoying a period of strength in the transfer market with the club able to make ambitious swoops for players in higher divisions.
Paul Mullin was the first real statement signing under owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney back in the summer of 2021, before the likes of Ollie Palmer was added later in the season.
Both players were attracted from clubs in the football league when Wrexham were languishing in the National League but the pulling power at the Racecourse Ground was enticing enough for a lot of players.
Recently, the signings of Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez caught the imagination of the fans, especially with one being an England international.
However, the club has not always been in this position of strength and in 2016, the Red Dragons sold their top goal scorer halfway through their campaign and he has had an interesting career since.

Former Wrexham striker Dominic Vose scores in the Ballers League
Dominic Vose spent some time in North Wales playing for Wrexham under manager Gary Mills but has made headlines in the newly-formed Baller League in London.
The Baller League is a new six-a-side tournament that is debuting in England after great success in Germany following the help of legendary defender Mats Hummels to promote the game.
It features ex-footballers, futsal stars and celebrities all vying to compete in the six-a-side competition and Vose was on target for Santan FC in their 6-4 win over Trebol FC.
Vose joins the likes of ex-Premier League stars Adrian Mariappa, Jordan Ibe and Marvin Sordell by playing in the competition and the former Wrexham man had a successful start with a goal.
Dominic Vose’s Wrexham career
Vose left the club under somewhat of a cloud back in 2016 having enjoyed an excellent period at the club. He was the top scorer for Wrexham in the 2015-16 season having scored ten goals in 28 appearances.
As per North Wales Live, Vose was then sold to League One side Scunthorpe at the time having already had a bid accepted from National League rivals Grimsby Town.
Vose stated: “My intention was to stay at Wrexham until the end of the season and try and get promoted. But then on the last day of the window the gaffer (Gary Mills) phoned me and Grimsby were offering a deal for me and the club had accepted it.
“I wasn’t willing to go to Grimsby, so my agent asked the question to Scunthorpe and they were willing to table the fee and I am here now.”
The 31-year-old striker is now playing for Carshalton Athletic in the Isthmian Premier League having spent some time in the Icelandic leagues with ÍF Magni Grenivík in 2021.
