Wrexham co-owner, Rob McElhenney has replied to an optimistic Notts County fan in his typical, light-hearted fashion on social media.

Following on from the success of both Wrexham and Notts County last season, there is a mutuality between the two.

With Phil Parkinson’s side beating them to the automatic promotion spot, County secured promotion through the playoffs.

Now both sides are in League Two and are flying high at the top end of the table. This sees the Reds sitting in third and Notts in fifth place.

As shown in ‘Welcome to Wrexham‘ there was plenty of respect for their rivals by the Wrexham co-owners. Now Rob McElhenney has shown this once again with a reply on his Twitter page.

What has Rob McElhenney said?

In the documentary, the Reds had reached out to a Notts County fan for comment about an upcoming clash between the two. This was met with an expletive message from the fan who declined to be included in the series.

This same account has this week posted saying: “If we get a few more additions. We are going to win the league.”

The image shows the League Two table as the official County suggests, ‘all to play for in 2024’. This call to action has seen fans react including NottsCountyZone who was very ambitious for the new year. Despite sitting in fifth place, the fan believes a title charge is a distinct possibility.

This ambitious post saw a surprise response from the Wrexham co-owner who passed comment on the fan account.

To that, McElhenney said: “This continues to be one of my favourite accounts. No matter how many times you tell me to ____ off I’ll still be a fan. In fact, my respect will only deepen with every eviscerating comment or aggressive silence. One day I hope to meet you @NottsCountyZone. Until then I’ll be here shoving my _____ documentary up my arse. Happy New Year to you and yours!!!!”

It is safe to say that this account is the one that was asked to feature in ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ during the last campaign. This hilarious response is just what Wrexham fans have come to get used to under Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

It is safe to say that this post went down well as it has accrued over 8,000 likes on Twitter, at the time of writing. This is the kind of thing that fans have become accustomed to with the co-owners.
