Wrexham suffered back-to-back home league defeats for the first time under Phil Parkinson with Leyton Orient running out 2-1 winners.
Usually a fortress, The Racecourse Ground has now witness consecutive league defeats for Wrexham and Phil Parkinson’s side now sit five points off of the automatic promotion spots in League One.
Ollie Rathbone’s exceptional development continued after he opened the scoring and was the man of the match for the home side in the Wrexham player ratings.
Richie Wellens praised the performance of Ryan Barnett but despite late pressure for an equaliser, the Red Dragons went home with nothing and are now being pressurised by the likes of Stockport, Huddersfield and Orient themselves.

Jay Rodriguez highlights ‘fine margins’ in Wrexham’s defeat to Leyton Orient
Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel after the game, striker Jay Rodriguez was explaining how tight the difference was in the game between victory and defeat.
Rodriguez stated: “Fine margins in football no matter what league it is are very fine and you know it just could take a second to score a goal and change the momentum of the game.”
The former England international’s comments will add to Parkinson’s frustration at the result as Orient scored their equaliser during a good period of the game for the home side but they couldn’t capitalise.
Rodriguez explained: “Tonight was maybe that you know, if we go two up in the moment we kind of kill the game and we stay patient but it’s credit to them.”
Rodriguez yet to score for Wrexham in his opening three league games
Another worrying aspect for Parkinson will be the lack of goals from January signing Rodriguez. The England international arrived from Burnley and his manager would have been hoping for him to hit the ground running in a Wrexham shirt.
Rodriguez missed a glorious opportunity in the win over Northampton following excellent play from captain James McClean, the striker saw his effort hit straight at the goalkeeper.

Fellow signing Sam Smith did find the back of the net in that win at The Sixfields stadium and Smith has praised the quality of Rodriguez after playing up top as a partnership.
Rodriguez is working hard enough and has shown his quality in some of Wrexham’s build up play, now he just needs to relieve some pressure on himself and find the back of the net.
