Mark Howard had a great game on Saturday as Wrexham drew 1-1 to Barrow. This begs the question, should funds be used elsewhere than a goalkeeper?
The veteran keeper put in a solid performance, stepping up for the recently retired Ben Foster for the first time this season.
The 37-year-old make a particularly impressive save to deny Barrow forward Jamie Proctor what would have been the winner.
Granted, Wrexham are going to need a new goalkeeper at some point, with the player set to be 38 next seaosn, but should finds be prioritised elsewhere?

Phil Parkinson on Howard stepping up
Following the draw, Wrexham boss Phil Parkison spoke to the media about his keeper and was impressed with him stepping up as number one in Foster’s first absence.
“Mark was good,” said Parkinson. “He is a solid keeper and we know that. There were no qualms about him playing. He’s experienced and he showed that.”
It was borderline obvious that Wrexham were going to need a new shot stopper, with usual reserve keeper Rob Lainton still nursing an injury, but the question is now is how much to spend on another shot-stopper.
Howard has shown he can make the step-up, so is it wise to invest in a young prospect to develop… or the finished article?
What do we think?
We think that personally, a goalkeeper is still needed before the end of the window.
The age is a concern and were one Howard injury away from a crisis.
There are a plethora of good keepers available, we have every faith in Parkinson to go out there and pick the right man to be Super Ben Foster’s successor.
