After achieving promotion with Wrexham, Paul Mullin has made a comparison to his time at Tranmere Rovers.
Wrexham earned successive promotions for the first time in their history as Paul Mullin fired them there.
The 29-year-old plundered a highly impressive 26 goals in all competitions, including 14 in his final 12, to lead his side over the finish line.
This isn’t the first time Mullin has achieved promotion to the third tier, having done so with Tranmere Rovers in 2019 and Cambridge United in 2021.
On his second time, he left Cambridge for Wrexham and dropped down two divisions as he was sold by the project Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds were building in Wales.
Fast forward three years and that has proven to be the correct decision as the Liverpudlian is back in the third tier having surpassed a century of goals for the club.

In the 2018/2019 campaign, Mullin only scored four goals as Tranmere won promotion to League One.
He then struggled to hit any real form in the third tier, scoring just three goals in 20 appearances.
The Wrexham star put his struggles down to his side finding it hard to get going, which ultimately impacted his form.
He now believes the circumstances at Wrexham are completely different to his last time at this level. Mullin thinks the ambition McElhenney and Reynolds have shown will place them in a prominent position next season.
Speaking on the Men In Blazers podcast, he said: “When I was in League One with Tranmere there was different circumstances.
“Tranmere getting promoted doesn’t feel the same as Wrexham. I think here we feel like we’re on a real journey with owners who are real ambitious to keep going but I know how hard the division is.
“I think when I got there with Tranmere we had a really good side but we couldn’t get going. We started at the bottom end of the table before I left to go to Cambridge, it was quite a tough season.”
Paul Mullin has a point to prove in League One
Mullin was essentially dismissed at Tranmere but has bounced back over the last five years and shown what a quality striker he is.
Under the tutelage of Parkinson, the former Bradford City manager has got the best out of him and Lee Trundle believes he’s good enough to play in the Championship.
With better quality around him, there’s no reason why he can’t take League One by storm and continue the prolificacy he’s shown in recent years.
After all, there are not many players in English football who have scored more goals than Mullin. His finishing is impeccable and his all-round game has improved so much at Wrexham.
Mullin will be fuelled up to prove those who doubted him at Tranmere wrong by firing his side towards the promotion places.
