Wrexham striker Paul Mullin has taken to social media after demolishing Accrington Stanley on Saturday afternoon.

This is just what Wrexham needed.

Phil Parkinson was desperate for a big result after disappointing performances at Gillingham and Forest Green Rovers.

Parkinson would have expected an upturn against Accrington but few could have predicted Wrexham being 4-0 up by half-time.

Paul Mullin was the star of the show, smashing a first-half hat-trick.

A header, a low drive and a diving header at the back post were enough to see Mullin take home the match ball.

Mullin then set up Elliot Lee to make it 4-0, blown Accrington away before half-time and coasting home to victory after the break.

Mullin is understandably ecstatic to have rediscovered his goalscoring touch.

The Wrexham hitman recently went on an eight-game goal drought, something we aren’t really used to seeing.

Tuesday’s penalty against Forest Green helped Mullin get back on track and may have provided the momentum for Saturday’s display.

Mullin has now taken to social media, offering just four words – ‘that’s more like it’.

Mullin received a host of messages from Wrexham teammates, including midfielder Andy Cannon, who stated ‘my man’.

George Evans, Ollie Palmer, Anthony Forde, Elliot Lee and James McClean all sent messages of support to Mullin, seemingly loving his performance against Accrington.

Those Wrexham players will certainly hope to see Mullin go on a real run of goalscoring form with promotion to League One now up for grabs.

Mullin could be the key man in the coming weeks and this demolition of Accrington may well be a warning to the rest of League Two as the season heads towards its conclusion.
