Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has confirmed that Thomas O’Connor suffered a small injury blow against Tranmere Rovers.
What a frustrating week this has been.
Wrexham were in a great place after beating Morecambe 3-1 away from home last week.
The 0-0 draw with Harrogate Town in midweek was a real disappointment and that was followed up by Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat to Tranmere Rovers.
Luke Norris scored the only goal of the game, latching onto a long ball to finish past Arthur Okonkwo.
Wrexham just didn’t have the cutting edge to find the net for the second game in a row, leaving fans worried about the push for promotion.
Phil Parkinson on Thomas O’Connor
Home form was supposed to be Wrexham’s strong suit in the promotion run-in.
To take one point from two home games is a real concern and boss Phil Parkinson is, understandably, coming in for criticism.
Parkinson spoke on Wrexham’s official YouTube channel after the game and admitted a slight injury blow.
Thomas O’Connor returned to action on Saturday, coming on for an 11-minute substitute role.
O’Connor hadn’t featured for two months as he recovered from injury and Wrexham fans will be delighted to see him return.

However, O’Connor actually picked up another injury on Saturday with Parkinson confirming that he has taken a ‘bad whack’ on his knee.
The hope is that this is just a knock but Wrexham will now assess O’Connor in the hope of avoiding another injury lay-off.
“He’s took a bad whack on his knee in that tackle, so I don’t know how bad that is at the moment,” said Parkinson. “But yeah, great to have him back, we changed the shape but it just made us too open,” he added.
Seeing O’Connor return to action and then pick up another injury would be a cruel blow for Wrexham right now.
Let’s hope that it’s just a bang and that O’Connor can push on for more minutes in the coming weeks as his versatility in midfield and in defence could be hugely beneficial.
