Wrexham manager, Phil Parkinson has discussed Arthur Okonkwo and how pleased he is knowing he will stay at the club as the loan recall window closed.
It has been an overly positive start to live back in League Two for Wrexham as they sit in second place in League Two.
The work that Phil Parkinson has achieved can not be understated as there have been many standout performances.
From solid showings from Ben Tozer at the back to goal-scoring excellence from Elliot Lee or Paul Mullin, there is plenty to be positive about.
One signing that has certainly made a positive impact is Arthur Okonkwo who signed from Arsenal on loan this summer.

In recent weeks, fans had been worried that he could be recalled by the Gunners and shipped to a team in a higher league.
These worries were only heightened during the January window. A deadline has now passed and he will stay with Wrexham for the season.
Parkinson on Arthur Okonkwo loan
Since signing to replace the retiring Ben Foster, Okonkwo has been nothing short of superb. According to FotMob he has registered eight clean sheets and conceded just 15 goals over 17 games.
As a result, he has become an important cog in the machine in The Racecourse. No one associated with the Reds wanted the shot-stopper to leave.
Now in an interview with the BBC, Parkinson has opened up about the Arsenal loanee and how good he has been.
On that, he said: “It’s a massive signing for us to keep Arthur, he’s been exceptional for us. He’s a great lad and has bought into everything the club is about. He’s moved up here and he’s been great to have around, but not just that, he’s a terrific goalkeeper.
“When someone plays well you always worry that they’ve caught the eye of other teams. So yes, I was pleased when the clock struck 12 after the 21st.”
With the loan recall window coming and going, Wrexham fans can sleep easy knowing he will be the keeper for the season. To have one of Arsenal’s brighter young talents at the club is an exciting prospect.
On the Gunners, Parkinson added: “They’ve been brilliant with us.
“They’re very interested in Arthur’s progress, and they know we’re looking after him well. This is a great stage for Arthur to play on. With the expectancy of everything here at Wrexham, playing in front of packed houses every week. They understand this is a great place for him to be.”
It is safe to say that the Reds are in safe hands with Okonkwo in goal. Here’s to hoping his form can continue over the second half of the season.
