Phil Parkinson guided Wrexham to a victory over Stockport County on Saturday afternoon, moving them back up to second.
Wrexham beat Stockport 1-0 on March 22nd and will now spend the next seven days, at least, inside the automatic promotion places.
Wycombe Wanderers still have a game in hand but things are now looking very good for the Welsh outfit.
Rob McElhenney sent a message to Wrexham ahead of kick-off and the Always Sunny star certainly got his wish.
When all was said and done, Jay Rodriguez’s rebound from the penalty he missed initially was enough to hand the home side a 1-0 win.
It was a tense affair but one change made by Phil Parkinson midway through the clash ensured the Red Dragons came out on top.

The tactical change Phil Parkinson made during Wrexham vs Stockport
Stockport probably had the better of the opening 20 minutes or so in terms of chances and possession.
Even after Wrexham’s goal, the Hatters still looked decent going into the break.
The home team were much improved in the second half, however, and Stockport lost their heads somewhat, picking up a number of yellow cards before Brad Hills then saw red.
Now, when speaking to the club’s media post-match, Parkinson has explained the key tactical change he made at half-time.
“First half we kind of let their wide centre-backs travel a little bit too far into our half and we adjusted that after the break.
“I thought we did it better, we bounced our midfield player out onto the centre-half quicker and locked our outside centre-back onto their eight and it worked better for us.
“But they’re a good team and equally we had more periods of possession ourselves at the start of that half, you need to do that against Stockport.
“It’s a great win for us, they’re a good team, they’re up there for a reason, they’ve got some good players.”
Phil Parkinson comments on Jay Rodriguez’s first Wrexham goal
As already mentioned, the game was decided when Rodriguez scored shortly before the half-hour mark.
It was the striker’s first goal in 11 games since he completed his winter transfer from Burnley.
Wrexham fans have given Rodriguez stick in recent weeks, but Parkinson was delighted for the forward post-match.
He said: “It was always going to be a feisty affair, there was an edge to the game.
“But we stuck to the task, we got the goal at an important time and should have had a penalty before that.
“I’m delighted for Jay [Rodriguez] to get his goal, he’s worked tirelessly for the team, he deserved that moment.”
