Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson has been told to drag his side to promotion by starting one player at all costs.
Wrexham hit a mini bump in the road on Tuesday night as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Doncaster Rovers.
Little damage was done in the context of their season as Phil Parkinson‘s men still find themselves in third place, two points above MK Dons and four adrift of the pacesetters Stockport County.
Their prominent position doesn’t take away from the fact they were hugely disappointing in South Yorkshire having registered just one attempt on target, forcing goalkeeper Thimothee Lo-Tutala into a world-class save in the last minute.
Wrexham must bounce back from this result by beating strugglers Colchester United this weekend, and Parkinson has been told one player can drag his side to promotion.

George Evans has been a key cog in Wrexham’s midfield for most of the season, but a hamstring injury has restricted his involvement recently.
The former Manchester City trainee has missed nine matches between February and March, returning to the side in the convincing win over Grimsby Town with a two-minute appearance off the bench.
Evans then made his 24th appearance with a 29-minute cameo against Doncaster, as many – including journalist Nathan Salt – have now called for him to start the trip to Colchester.
Salt believes the 29-year-old is integral to dragging Wrexham over the line in the promotion race, previously lauding the midfield destroyer as “irreplaceable”.
Speaking on the Rob Ryan Red podcast, he said: “Wrexham just need to somehow drag themselves over the line. I think that comes with playing George Evans between now and the end of the season in every possible match. I think he’s arguably, technically one of the best players.”

Evans oozes class in most departments, showcasing his ability as a midfield enforcer while setting the tone for his side out of possession.
That is one attribute that Wrexham missed in the Doncaster defeat, someone who can grab the game by the scruff of the neck and take control.
After all, the former Millwall man does boast incredible experience higher up the pyramid having featured 147 times in the Championship.
Wrexham supporters can tell he’s played at a higher level as his performances this season have predominantly oozed class.
He must therefore start their last five matches, starting against Colchester this weekend.
