Wrexham are currently flying in League Two, and spirits are high ahead of a heated clash against Stockport this weekend.

Phil Parkinson’s side are on a run of four victories in a row, and are just three points off the top of the League after an initially difficult start to the season.

The squad is looking strong following the return of Paul Mullin and the signing of Steven Fletcher, and confidence is the highest it has been throughout the campaign.

Speaking to The Leader, Parkinson claimed that whilst he is delighted with the current mood at the club, he has called on his squad to focus ahead of Saturday’s huge game away at Wrexham’s rivals.

“The game (against Grimsby) had a really good feel to it, the atmosphere was terrific and it was a real, professional performance,” he stated.

“You enjoy that winning feeling but straight away this week there is a real focus on the next game, and getting the work right so we go into the Stockport game as sharp as we were on Saturday.

“It is going to be another terrific game and we go to Stockport in good spirits. We keep building and keep working, and look to keep improving.”

Wrexham’s promotion push

Wrexham were the pre-season favourites for promotion after coming up from League Two, with the club’s resources proving useful in strengthening the squad.

An initially quiet summer window ended dramatically with a number of new additions, and on paper, Wrexham have one of the strongest sides in the division.

Now that the team are in a good run of form, the push for back-to-back promotions now looks fully alive in what will be a long season, but Wrexham now have the quality and depth to fight for a place in League One.

A win away at Stockport on Saturday would lay down a huge marker to the rest of the division that Wrexham are gunning for the top spots, and the already good mood at the club could further improve.
