Welcome to Wrexham Season 2 is well and truly underway now, with episodes four and five having just hit our screens.
The new series has, once again, been a smash hit with fans. We’re seeing a lot of returning names, including the stars of the show – Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
The two have learned so much about English football – and so quickly. You can really tell in this season that they’re a lot more clued up on the goings-on surrounding the club.
However – there’s always room for improvement, as the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star found out in one of the new episodes.

McElhenney made blunder with 3 PM kick-offs
McElhenney nearly made a mistake with potentially very bad legal implications in the latest episode.
He wanted to watch Wrexham’s away game, but the game was at 3 PM – which is an issue in the UK.
There is a law stating that you can’t broadcast 3 PM Saturday kick-offs, McElhenney did not know this.
With the Hollywood actor desperate to watch – he attempted to stream the game, which would be “a very big deal” in the grand scheme of things.
“I wasn’t trying to create an international broadcasting uproar,” McElhenney explained. “I just wanted to watch the game. I didn’t think it was a very big deal.”
Yep, the legal team were right to intervene on this one.
Why can’t games be broadcast at 3 p.m. on a Saturday in the UK?
For those that don’t know – this is a genuine law in the UK – but why?
Well, the ‘blackout’ rule was implemented in 1960 to counteract the negative impacts it would have on lower division teams.
The theory is, that if a 3 PM game was on TV, a fan may sit in watching the game instead of going down to watch their local club.
This would mean a loss in ticket revenue for them – which is crucial in the lower divisions.
Still – massively frustrating when your team is playing a big game, as McElhenney found out!
