Rob McElhenney has sent a heartfelt message to the Wrexham squad as they continue their promotion celebrations in Las Vegas.
The Wrexham players were rewarded with a trip to Las Vegas for the second season running.
Phil Parkinson’s men achieved their dream promotion by finishing second in League Two. All of the first-team squad – including the ones who departed – are celebrating their achievements in the United States.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, of course, shelled out for the trip after making a promise to the players and such a reward recognises their hard work throughout a gruelling campaign.
Although competition for the top three promotion places was fierce, Wrexham earned their passage into the third tier by finishing the campaign with six successive wins.
Paul Mullin – who scored 14 in his last 12 matches – hit an incredible run of form at the perfect time to fire the Reds to promotion, and now McElhenney has hailed that achievement.

Rob McElhenney sends heartfelt message to Wrexham players
McElhenney’s ‘ultimate goal’ for Wrexham is reaching the Premier League, which has always been the case since he assumed control of the club.
Many questioned whether that was a realistic ambition in 2021, but now they’re only two promotions away, supporters can start to dream of top-flight football.
The Hollywood owners were unsurprisingly left delighted when the club achieved consecutive promotions for the first time in its history, and McElhenney’s message to the players on Instagram reflects that emotion.
Parkinson’s squad have rightfully been enjoying themselves in Las Vegas, with Arthur Okonkwo pictured wearing a Wrexham scarf.
It marks a period of rest for the players before they embark on a campaign in League One.
Wrexham are already planning for League One
To stand any chance of making it a third consecutive promotion, Wrexham know preparations for next season have to begin early.
There’s no chance they can leave their business till later on in the window and announcing their list of released/retained players early suggests a few players are in the pipeline.
Parkinson can only pick a 22-man squad in League One, so the club needed to shift a lot of deadwood, which is what they did last week.
Although no bids have yet been made for players, capturing Okonkwo permanently remains their top priority while a striker is firmly on the agenda.
Wrexham will likely dip into the free transfer market as there are several, including many Championship players, who see their contracts expire in June.
Meanwhile, McElhenney’s and Reynolds’ ambitions of achieving promotion are sure to be supported by spending a hefty amount in the window.
