Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have made some tough decisions since becoming Wrexham owners.
In January 2025 alone, the Red Dragons made tough calls to part with some previously key players.
Rob McElhenney sent a message to Anthony Forde after the player was released from his contract so he could move to Burton Albion.
James Jones, another previously important asset, was also allowed to depart and move to League One rivals Burton.
Meanwhile, Shaun Harvey sent a message to six Wrexham players who were axed by the club during the summer of 2024.
Luke Young was McElhenney’s favourite player but despite the clear love, he was among the names released last year.
But it’s not just players Ryan Reynolds and his counterpart have had to ruthlessly axe since they took charge of Wrexham.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney sacked Dean Keates after three months
The duo took charge of Wrexham right in the middle of the 2020/21 season and opted to give those already at the club a chance to prove themselves.
However, after missing out on the play-offs via goal difference that term, Dean Keates was relieved of his duties in May 2021.
After making the decision to sack Keates and the rest of his coaching staff, Reynolds and McElhenney released a statement.
They wrote: “We would like to thank Dean, Andy and Carl for all their efforts on behalf of the club, in what at times were challenging circumstances.
“We are committed to returning the club to the EFL at the earliest opportunity and feel that a change of manager will provide us with the best chance of achieving that objective.
“Dean, Andy and Carl will always be welcome at the club.”

Dean Keates led Wrexham to their lowest-ever finish
After a five-year spell at the Racecourse as a player, Keates became Wrexham manager for the first time in 2016 before leaving to join Walsall in 2018.
He returned to Wales a year later, becoming Red Dragons boss for the second time on October 6th, 2019.
That season was the worst in Wrexham’s history, seeing them finish 19th in the National League – their lowest league position since the club was founded in 1864.
An eighth-place finish the following campaign was a major improvement but still not enough for Keates to keep his job.
The 46-year-old has not returned to management since Rob and Ryan axed him in 2021.
