Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds has donated £1,000 to a former Wrexham player.

Wrexham fans continue to fall in love with owners Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Not only are they ambitious and playing a huge role in the club’s ongoing rise through the English football pyramid, but they’re also proving to be genuinely nice people.

They connect with the fans and with the team, and Reynolds has now made a generous donation to a former Wrexham player.

Ryan Reynolds donates to former Wrexham star Martyn Chalk

Former Wrexham man Martyn Chalk recently suffered serious injuries following an accident in Thailand, and looks set for a lengthy recovery period.

A gofundme has been set up to help cover Chalk’s medical bills and Reynolds has donated £1,000.

The news was relayed on X:

Chalk, now aged 54, is best known for his time at Wrexham.

The midfielder also represented Derby County and Stockport County, but racked up 131 total appearances for Wrexham during a six-year stint at the club, scoring eight goals along the way.

A generous donation

Everyone at Wrexham will of course be wishing Chalk all the best, and Ryan Reynold’s donation will go a long way in helping him make his recovery.

And expect the Wrexham owners to have a close eye on this weekend’s League Two clash vs Colchester United at the Racecourse Ground.

Phil Parkinson‘s side are now six points behind leaders Stockport but have a game in hand, and with Barrow level on points and all of Mansfield Town, Crewe Alexandra, and Notts County just a point behind Wrexham and Barrow, it’s imperative that the Dragons keep the heat on Stockport.

Injuries remains a key cause for concern at the club. But January is just around the corner and it’ll give Wrexham a key opportunity to reassess the squad and bolster where they see fit, with the second half of the season being where promotion is earned or lost.

Tomorrow’s game kicks off at 3pm.
