The pressure is on Wrexham right now after a disappointing 1-0 defeat away at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night, missing a chance to close in on promotion.
Wrexham headed to Yorkshire knowing that a victory would open up a five-point gap over fourth-placed Milton Keynes Dons.
Wrexham couldn’t get the job done though and fell to a 1-0 defeat as Owen Bailey handed Doncaster all three points.
This was another disappointing away performance from Wrexham and fans will be in a constant state of stress as the promotion race heads towards its conclusion.
Wrexham must regroup after Tuesday’s defeat and Phil Parkinson will know that he has the quality at his disposal to get over the line.
Paul Mullin will be the go-to man for Wrexham but he is surrounded by other players who can make a huge difference at League Two level.
In fact, one Wrexham player has been nominated for the League Two Player of the Season award – and it isn’t Mullin.
Ryan Reynolds message
The man in question is playmaker Elliot Lee.
Wrexham have today confirmed that Lee is up for the prestigious award alongside Notts County assist machine Jodi Jones and Mansfield Town’s former Wrexham man Davis Keillor-Dunn.
Lee has racked up 15 goals from midfield this season whilst also chipping in with three assists.
The 29-year-old will now hope to win the award and has received a message from Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds.
Reynolds took to social media to send ‘huge congrats’ to Lee, adding that his nomination is ‘so well deserved’.
Beating Jones and Keillor-Dunn won’t be easy but Lee appears to have the backing of Reynolds as he goes the award.

Phil Parkinson may face Elliot Lee decision
Lee has been a goalscoring machine from midfield but boss Parkinson may actually face a tough call on him.
The former West Ham United talent hasn’t really looked his best for a while now and actually appears to need a rest.
Lee has managed just two goals and one assist in his last 21 appearances across all competitions.
That is clearly not what we have come to expect from Lee and Parkinson may well need to take him out of the lineup and leave him on the bench against Colchester United this weekend.
The timing may be strange given that Lee is now up for an award, but he played the full 90 minutes at Doncaster and was largely ineffectual.
We all know how good Lee can be at his best, but a rest could do him the world of good as Wrexham chase promotion to League One.
