It means that Ryan Reynolds and McElhenney feel similar emotions to their supporters, who will have no doubt felt nervous throughout the promotion run-in.
Much like those who flock to the STōK Cae Ras, Reynolds’ mood for the day is dictated by Wrexham’s result and in a recent interview, he’s opened up on how watching the Reds is an “incredibly intense” ride.
Speaking to the ESPN FC YouTube channel, the 47-year-old said: “In some ways, Rob calling me years ago and saying ‘do you want to partner up on this pretty outside the box idea’, was both the best and worst thing that’s ever happened to me.
“I am so grateful for the home that North Wales and Wrexham has in my heart, but my heart can’t take it half the time. It is intense, it is an incredibly intense ride and it doesn’t seem to wane.
“Every single match my mood for the day, sometimes the week, is determined by what happens on that pitch.”

Wrexham will have relieved everyone’s nerves by winning their final five games to clinch promotion.
Unfortunately, their journey to reach the Premier League is only going to get harder from here.
Despite winning promotion three times from League One previously, this will be Parkinson’s biggest challenge yet in Wales.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Wrexham challenge towards the top two, but it would be a shock to see them wrap promotion up with matches to spare, as they did this season.
As a result, Reynolds nerves will only be heightened as they continue their journey towards the top.
