Following Wrexham’s 2-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley, their chairman, Andy Holt has taken a swipe at Ryan Reynolds and Co. via social media.

Last time out, Wrexham fell to their first defeat in months as they fell to a 2-0 against Accrington Stanley.

Away from home, Phil Parkinson’s side just didn’t get up to speed throughout the game. This was shown by nothing more than Paul Mullin missing a penalty late on.

The defeat saw the Reds drop from second to fourth place in spite of the top-class run that the Dragons have been on.

What caught the attention of fans was a bizarre spat on social media following the game.

What has Andy Holt said?

To get a background of this story, we have to go to before the game. Wrexham fans were frustrated to find that Stanley had charged them £5 more for their tickets than other away teams.

As a result of this, it was announced that Wrexham would reduce the ticket prices for the home fans in the return fixture.

This seemed like a no-brainer decision for the club and was initially praised by Holt via Twitter.

Although fans weren’t pleased with the prospect of being charged more than any other fans, this was fair reasoning at least. This seemed like Holt was happy to see the Reds charge less to their fans and not make a scene.

Fast forward to after the game and it appeared that Wrexham had gotten under his skin as he took to Twitter once again. This time taking a jibe at the club and the owners.

Tagging Ryan Reynolds and saying ‘Get that on Netflix Ryan lad.’ seemed like a strange response given his earlier messages. Wrexham have offered his fans cheaper tickets but comes in with a snide remark following his side’s win.

This saw plenty of fans of various clubs calling out the Accrington owner on social media. As a result, Holt came back and replied to various tweets.

Obviously, even with the result going in his favour, there were certain things that were getting on his nerves.

Holt then spent the rest of his weekend responding to more comments from people on his Twitter. It has to say it was rather strange to see.

This all came because the Wrexham owners didn’t want to see their fans treated differently to other away fans. The result went how Holt wanted and yet he still went on a tirade on social media.
