Wrexham have completed another two signings with Phil Parkinson continuing to bolster his squad ahead of the big League One kick off.
Arthur Okonkwo, Lewis Brunt and George Dobson were already on board before Wrexham fired up the now-famous HP printer.
Monday proved to be a big day for Wrexham as not one but two contracts appeared.
Goalkeeper Callum Burton was the first to be confirmed as the former Plymouth Argyle stopper signed on to compete with Arthur Okonkwo.
Wrexham then announced the arrival of left back Sebastian Revan, securing him on a permanent basis from Aston Villa.
Revan spent last season on loan at Rotherham United, so has a full season of Championship action under his belt upon arriving at Wrexham.
Sebastian Revan on Aston Villa exit
The decision to leave Aston Villa can’t have been an easy one for Revan.
The West Bromwich-born talent joined Villa at the age of just six and has spent more than a decade with the club.
Revan struggled to break into the first team but given g up on his Villa Park dream will have been an emotional moment.
The 21-year-old took to Instagram to send an emotional message after confirming his decision to leave Villa.
“I would like to say thank you to everyone at Aston Villa for the last 15 years since the age of 6 this has been my home but now it is my time to say goodbye. I was honoured to be able to make my debut at Villa Park infront of all the fans and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you to all the staff players and fans for your help and support and I wish you all the best in the future,” said Revan.
A number of Villa players responded with the likes of Cameron Archer, Tommi O’Reilly, Josh Feeney, Sil Swinkels and Kaine Kesler Hayden showing their support.
The likes of Chelsea’s Omari Kellyman and Everton’s Tim Iroegbunam also wished Revan all the best at Wrexham, as did Burnley’s Aaron Ramsey alongside his brother Jacob, who is still at Villa.
Rotherham United striker Sam Nombe – one of Revan’s teammates from last season – added ‘big things ahead’, backing Revan for a bright future after securing this move.
Revan on Wrexham arrival
It wasn’t all sadness for Revan though as his Villa exit ultimately means that a new chapter is starting at Wrexham.
Revan also posted a photo in a Wrexham hoodie and stood by the Wrexham badge.
“Delighted to have joined Wrexham! Can’t wait to get started and play in front of you all at the racecourse,” said Revan.
Revan has been out on loan during his time with Villa, spending periods with Grimsby Town, Hereford and Rotherham United.
This is the first time that he will be truly flying the nest though and he will be looking to ensure that his decision is the right one.
Revan should be able to play plenty of first-team action for Wrexham as a left wing back in Phil Parkinson’s system and it would be little surprise to see him open the season in the starting XI.
