Wrexham’s new director, Shaun Harvey has now dropped a claim that Wrexham supporters will love.
The Reds are a club that has been on the up since Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds assumed control in February 2021.
From growing a global fanbase to growing admirers with their performances on the pitch, Wrexham’s ambitions have increased exponentially in the past few years.
Phil Parkinson’s side were promoted with a record-breaking points total last term. The National League is normally one of the most difficult divisions to get out of as there are only two promotion spots up for grabs, but McElhenney and Reynolds used their financial muscle to achieve their dream.
Wrexham, who are currently in fourth position, have continued on their upward trajectory since being promoted to League Two and are threatening to achieve successive promotions.
Recently appointed director Shaun Harvey accepts the advantage that the Reds currently have over their divisional rivals financially, although he admits that will come to an end if they continue their rise.

Shaun Harvey believes the best is yet to come from Wrexham
The ambition that Wrexham have shown and the records they’ve broken since their two Hollywood owners arrived point towards a brighter future.
And while he accepts climbing up the pyramid will see the gap close, Harvey believes the best is yet to come from a side that continues to push the boat out in every department.
Speaking to the Leader, Harvey said: “It’s been a magical rollercoaster of a ride for three years under Rob and Ryan and arguably the best is still to come.
“What that entails and how it plays out, I don’t think anyone can accurately predict. All we do know is there will be lots of honest endeavour both on and off the pitch, everybody will do their best to be successful.
“Results on the pitch make a football club but ultimately, it’s what goes on off it that defines it.
“Everybody around Wrexham is loving the experience of seeing how far the club can go. The further up the pyramid you get, the more that love will become difficult to maintain.”
Not winning promotion this season wouldn’t be a disaster
Wrexham fans will be craving the prospect of watching League One football, but it isn’t the end of the world if the club don’t get promoted this term.
A huge clear out of players would be needed and while the likes of Luke Bolton, Jack Marriott, Elliot Lee and Paul Mullin could manage the step up to the third tier, there are plenty who couldn’t.
Another season to build a team capable of winning the League Two title and being more prepared for the step up to the third tier could be more beneficial in the long term than going up this time around.
Wrexham are firmly in the mix for automatic promotion with only one point separating them from third-place Barrow, but failure to achieve that wouldn’t be a disaster as they’d come back stronger next time around.
