Wrexham now face a hectic schedule, with seven games in the next three and a half weeks, and the depth of the squad will now be tested.
Phil Parkinson’s side were dealt a heavy blow as they lost 5-0 to rivals Stockport County, and need to bounce back against Crewe Alexandra this weekend.
There are a number of players within the squad who have hardly featured this season, and Parkinson has now named a few who are set to receive more minutes as the fixtures pile up.
Who could Parkinson bring into the fold?
Speaking to The Leader, Parkinson named a host of players who could now be set to feature as early as this weekend.
“Like we did at the start of the season, when these games come thick and fast we have got to utilise the group and that is what we are looking to do,” Parkinson stated.
“The plan is to freshen things up a bit. We will check on Ollie Palmer and we have got good players like Andy Cannon and James Jones, two different players who did so much for us at the back end of last season and both come back into the thinking.
“George Evans hasn’t started yet, Steven Fletcher is getting fitter all the time and Anthony Forde is back from his injury and having a good week on the training pitch.
“There’s lots of options there for us to contemplate and we will be doing that as staff.”

Fresh faces
The horror show against Stockport, which Parkinson later expressed his frustration at, has perhaps opened up more opportunities for Wrexham to refresh their starting XI.
Changes will certainly have to be made in the wake of the defeat, and the timing now seems perfect for summer signing George Evans to come into the team, having had to wait for an opportunity.
Parkinson has also named Andy Cannon, James Jones, Steven Fletcher and Anthony Forde, and whilst it is unlikely that all of these players will suddenly start, the likes of Fletcher and Evans may be in line to start to see whether they can stake a claim for a regular place.
