Fans are growing ever-frustrated with just how hard it is to get tickets to Wrexham fixtures. So, with this – how long is it until the new stand is completed?

It really isn’t as easy to get to a Wrexham game as it used to be. Since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the Red Dragons – tickets have become like gold dust,

This has forced the club into expanding the Racecourse ground, with a new ‘Kop’ stand currently under construction, that will seat up to 5500 fans of the club.

But with fans growing ever frustrated with the difficulty to get tickets, which has been made significantly harder thanks to the rebuild of the Kop stand.

When will Wrexham’s new stand be finished?

Wrexham’s new stand is set to be finished for the start of the 2024/25 season. This is according to an update from Wrexham back in January 2023.

This is a provisional date and could be set to change, but seems about right considering work began in June 2023.

Fans growing ever frustrated with the difficulty to obtain tickets

The new stand can’t come soon enough. Fans are getting seriously frustrated, particularly the ones that have been going to watch them before ‘Hollywood’ arrived.

Weightlifting gold medalist and lifelong Wrexham fan Gareth Evans recently spoke with The Athletic on how hard it was to get a ticket to the Racecourse in 2023.

“It’s become so hard to get tickets,” Evans began. “Not so long ago, I could just drive down, or get the train and pay on the day. That was perfect, with training, competition and so on meaning I couldn’t go every week.

“Now, obviously, things have changed. I retired and things were just starting to hot up ticket-wise. I managed to get to seven games last season and I got a ticket for MK Dons (on the opening day of this one).

“But it’s a lottery. I’m there on the internet when the tickets go on sale to members. I’ll get on 25 minutes before but be something like 300th in the queue when it opens. With some having linked accounts to buy tickets for mates, I often miss out because the tickets go like hotcakes.”

Evans, although frustrated, went on to explain that he’d rather have this than Wrexham’s prior situation.

“It has been frustrating because, as a fan, I want to go to every game. But, at the same time, I am glad we have a full stadium every week and everyone is talking about the club. I’d much rather have that than what was the case previously. When the only time we got a mention was because we might go out of business.”

I guess it’s a small price to pay for all of the club’s successes!
