Rathbone is most known for his impressive career in the EFL, but some may not know he actually started out his career at Premier League giants Manchester United.
The Blackburn-born midfielder started his career in the Red Devils youth ranks, enjoying early success at the club, even winning Man United’s goal of the month award in February 2015 for a 40-yard screamer for the U18’s.
Rathbone, however, would eventually fail to make the grade at United, being released by the club in June 2016.

Following his release from the Manchester United academy, Rathbone would take his first steps into the senior game with EFL side Rochdale. He would enjoy success at the Crown Oil Arena, eventually becoming a mainstay in the Rochdale midfield.
