Wrexham saw two more celebrities take in Saturday’s clash with Tranmere Rovers – though this time, of the mascot variety.
Ever since the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds takeover, celebrities have been watching Wrexham games.
Blake Lively, Kaitlin Olson, Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell… we have seen so many famous faces in the stands over the last couple of years.
That’s the power and pull of McElhenney and Reynolds, who have turned Wrexham from a middling non-league side into a ‘Hollywood’ club.
Saturday saw another celebrity moment, but this time it featured three mascots heading in from the United States.

Major League Baseball is coming to the UK this summer as the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies meet at the London Stadium in June.
The London Series is a major moment for Major League Baseball as they continue to raise their profile in the UK.
So where were the mascots of the two teams spotted this weekend? Well, it wasn’t London.
Nope, it was Wrexham.
Famed Phillies mascot ‘Phillie Phanatic’ and Mets mascots ‘Mr and Mrs Met’ were both in Wrexham over the weekend,
The Athletic note that they were primarily in the area for an advert ahead of the London Series.

However, they were then spotted at half-time during Wrexham’s defeat to Tranmere Rovers and are understood to have spent three days in Wrexham.
Fans of McElhenney’s show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia will know the influence of the Philadelphia Phillies in that show.
There is an unlicensed version of the Phillie Phanatic – the ‘Philly Frenetic’ – in one episode whilst Phillies legend Chase Utley features in multiple episodes and is the hero of McElhenney’s character Mac.
Philadelphia-born McElhenney will have loved seeing the Phanatic at Wrexham’s clash on Saturday, albeit in a losing effort against Tranmere.
This latest episode just goes to show that Wrexham fans truly never know who will be turning up to games these days; celebrities, mascots, who even knows anymore? It’s starting to feel like anything is possible under the McElhenney and Reynolds reign.
