Wrexham striker Ollie Palmer has been a crucial figure this season, but is now struggling with an injury problem.
Wrexham have lost just two games this season, and both were the only games in which Palmer did not start, with the 31-year-old appearing in every game so far in this campaign.
He was on the bench for Wrexham’s 5-0 thrashing by Stockport County, and is a doubt for the next game, but manager Phil Parkinson is confident that he will be fit and ready.
Speaking to The Leader, Parkinson claimed that Palmer has had an injection to help solve a problem in his knee.
“Ollie did some running on Monday to keep him active and he has had an injection in his knee,” Parkinson stated.
“He will rest up and we will look to get him back in training on Thursday. He has had a problem with his knee for a bit so we set him up for this jab and we are confident it will do the trick.
“Hopefully this injection will help him with the issue he has. Ollie twisted it awkwardly against Grimsby and he managed it a little bit during the week.
“We didn’t want to risk him too much against Stockport but had him on the bench if needed.”
Wrexham’s attacking options
Parkinson will be somewhat grateful that Palmer’s issues have arisen at a time where he has other forward options available.
Paul Mullin is back from injury, having missed most of the start of the season, and new signing Steven Fletcher is available.

Palmer has been an important figure upfront despite his lack of goals, having scored twice in 12 games, but Parkinson now has the option to rest him until he returns to full fitness.
Wrexham were heavily beaten by Stockport, and Parkinson may wish to bring Palmer back in, but he will be cautious over making his knee injury worse.
