Wrexham manager, Phil Parkinson has opened up about the upcoming FA Cup clash against Blackburn Rovers and the aim coming into the game.
The FA Cup has been something that Wrexham have taken seriously for the past few seasons. This has seen them make some great memories.
Last season this was brought to the fore. This as the Reds made it to the fourth round of the FA Cup with some big wins.
This saw a famous win against Coventry City in the third round. Goals from Sam Dalby, Elliot Lee, Tom O’Connor and Paul Mullin were enough to secure a win.
Following this, Sheffield United were welcomed to The Racecourse and after a draw a replay was next. The Reds were knocked out after replay defeat but this didn’t stop the run from being iconic.

Now there is a chance to match that journey and even better it as Blackburn Rovers await in this year’s fourth round.
Parkinson on Blackburn in FA Cup
It has been a great season in League Two for Wrexham which has seen them defy the odds in second in the table.
To have an exceptional cup run on top of the top form in the league would only benefit the Reds moving forward.
In an interview with Leader Live, Phil Parkinson has opened up about the FA Cup and how much he is looking forward to it.
On that, he said: “We’ve worked very hard to get to this stage. In my time here, we’ve always understood the tradition of the club and the FA Cup.
“We’ve got to this stage after coming through some really tough games. What a great opportunity it is to go to Ewood Park with 7,000 of our own fans behind us.”
The Wrexham fanbase is one that is always travelling in numbers and backing their side. Whether that be at The Racecourse or away, there is plenty of atmosphere following the Reds.
With 7,000 fans behind the team against Championship opposition, there is a great opportunity for the Reds.
Continuing on, Parkinson added: “It’s a game to really look forward too. It’s about going there and giving a good account of ourselves like we’ve done before in this competition. We know the league is our top priority but let’s really focus on Monday night.
“Our aim as a team is to go there and give a good account of ourselves. To create a cup upset we’ve got to run harder, we’ve got to run further, tackle stronger and pass it more crisply. Everything in our game must be that bit better, to give ourselves a chance of being in the hat.”
There is a chance to create an iconic and historic moment in Wrexham history against Blackburn next week.
