The win over Barrow was Phil Parkinson’s 75th home game in charge of Wrexham and now Rob McElhenney has reacted to his stats as Reds boss.

Following Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s purchase of Wrexham one of their first ports of call was to hire a new manager.

With Phil Parkinson coming in, Reds fans could have only hoped of what would happen with the former Bolton man in charge.

Despite not getting promoted in his first season, his second will be remembered for all the right reasons for fans. Promotion was finally secured from the National League and now Wrexham find themselves at the top end of League Two.

Barrow were welcomed to The Racecourse this weekend and were ahead after less than a minute. Thanks to a Paul Mullin wondergoal and a Steven Fletcher hat trick, three points were secured.

This was Parkinson’s 75th game in charge of Wrexham at home and his record has blown the mind of Wrexham’s co-owner…

In the first series of ‘Welcome to Wrexham‘, it was clear that the co-owners were keen on getting a top manager in. It is safe to say, that is exactly what they did.

National League promotion last campaign has now seen the Reds rise up to one of the top sides in League Two. At the time of writing, they sit in third and are level on points with Mansfield Town in second place.

Following the win over Barrow, The Wrexham Lowdown have posed to Twitter regarding the Reds boss’ match stats at The Racecourse.

On that, they said: “Today was Phil Parkinson’s 75th match in charge of Wrexham at The Racecourse in all competitions. His record… Won 59 Drawn 12 Lost 4 For 208 Against 76.”

This has prompted co-owner, McElhenney to react via his own Twitter page with nothing more than an emoji.

The simple use of a mind-blown emoji is enough to show the admiration that McElhenney has for the Reds manager.

To have only lost four home games in over two seasons with Wrexham is quite remarkable. Add to this 208 goals scored, a goal difference of +132, and it has been a terrific spell in charge.

With 915 days gone since his appointment as manager, the rise of the Reds has been top-class. Long may this form continue and see Parkinson take his side even further up the EFL.
