Wrexham have kept four clean sheets in their last five outings as their defensive solidity continues to be a major factor behind their success.
Wrexham’s 3-0 win over Burton Albion was a club record 20th clean sheet of the season and has moved Phil Parkinson’s side six points clear in the race for League One promotion.
The Red Dragons haven’t conceded a league goal at the Racecourse Ground in 400 minutes and the likes of Max Cleworth and Eoghan O’Connell have been a huge part of that success.
Wrexham’s solidity also comes from their industrious midfield, George Dobson and Matty James have both been excellent in recent weeks and of course, all good defences need a commanding goalkeeper.

Wrexham fans react to Arthur Okonkwo award
Arthur Okonkwo has been named the PFA fans’ League One player of the month for March after his impressive displays in the Wrexham net.
Okonkwo has now kept 16 clean sheets in the league this season and Wrexham fans have taken to X to voice their approval at the award for their star keeper.
One Wrexham fan wrote: “He has been the difference for games we otherwise wouldn’t have got the points this season , full credit to him.”
Another Wrexham fan wrote: “He’s been fantastic in the last few months!” Whilst another simply stated: “Outstanding.”
The 23-year-old has conceded just 21 goals in his 28 league appearances this season and has shown his resilience in overcoming a broken wrist. The Red Dragons’ fans are delighted with their hero.
Okonkwo showing incredible potential Mikel Arteta picked out
Having signed from Arsenal, big things were expected of Okonkwo upon his arrival to North Wales and he hasn’t looked back since making his debut in 2023.
Mikel Arteta predicted a bright future for Okonwko and the young keeper is now proving that claim with some eye-catching displays for Parkinson’s side.

Whilst his distribution is still an area for improvement, Okonkwo’s concentration and ability to make saves at vital times has really carried his side across the line in recent weeks.
None more so than against Burton Albion, when with the score at 0-0 and Wrexham becoming frustrated, Okonkwo was alert to a rare break away to smother an excellent chance for the away side.
