Wrexham have been completely transformed in one area during 2025 and fans just can’t believe it.
The Red Dragons were once again in League One action over the weekend, travelling away to Wycombe Wanderers.
It was a huge meeting in the race for automatic promotion, and given they had already played a game more and were sitting behind their rivals via goal difference, Wrexham needed a victory.
Saturday’s clash was a scrappy affair but Sam Smith opened the scoring in the 78th minute to make it 1-0.
The Chairboys pilled on the pressure during the closing stages of the game but when all was said and done, Wrexham beat Wycombe to climb into the top two for at least a few days.
It now means that the Welsh outfit have managed to pick up five victories on the road during 2025 so far – the joint-second most of any team in the entire top-four leagues.
Wrexham fans stunned at club’s away form
This recent uptick in form away from the Racecourse Ground is a far cry from what was happening during the first half of 2024/25.
Wrexham played 10 away League One fixtures in 2024 and ended up dropping points in seven of them.
Struggles on the road have been an issue for some time and even threatened to derail to club’s promotion push from League Two.
Now, after winning five away fixtures in 2025 already, Wrexham fans have taken to social media to express their surprise.
One fan wrote: “Wrexham have the second highest number of away points in 2025 to date out of the 92 Premier League/EFL sides. That’s a stat not many fans would’ve expected at the turn of the year!”
A second replied: “I would have lost money at a pub on this bet…still can’t believe it’s true.”
A third stated: “Mental how we’ve turned away form around. I was probably over the top in criticism after Reading but Parky really knows how to grind out the points.”
“Did not expect that….” another Wrexham supporter added in response to the above statistic.
While a fifth wrote: “It’s the weirdest season, it feels like we’re —- but we’re good!”

Phil Parkinson speaks on Wrexham away form
Wrexham have only dropped points once in their last six away fixtures, losing 2-0 to Reading this past Tuesday.
Commenting on his side’s new-found form on the road, Phil Parkinson was very pleased after Wycombe, as per Leader Live.
He said: “But if you take the last six away games and we have won five of them, that is an incredible return for us.
“Sometimes you get a bit of a blip for whatever reason, like a bit of fatigue, but today we put it right.
“If you’d said out of the two games which one we’d prefer to win, obviously it would be this one.
“I would like both but we will take today.”
