Ben Tozer is out of contract this summer and Wrexham fans have been pondering how to keep him around at the STōK Cae Ras.

Wrexham continue to push for promotion despite disappointing results against Harrogate Town and Tranmere Rovers.

Phil Parkinson remains in a strong position to get over the line and big decisions would then have to be made.

A handful of Wrexham players are out of contract at the end of the season and the promotion fate could dictate their futures.

Mark Howard, Jordan Tunnicliffe, Callum McFazdean, Luke Young and Aaron Hayden will all be free to go as thing stand whilst Wrexham hold one-year options on James McClean and Rob Lainton.

Then there is defender Ben Tozer, who will become a free agent this summer.

The 34-year-old is a valued veteran in the Wrexham squad and Parkinson even named him as the most underrated players in the Wrexham squad.

Wrexham fans on Ben Tozer

Tozer has featured in 28 League Two games this season and continues to play an important role under Parkinson, even if he doesn’t start every week.

Promotion would leave Parkinson pondering whether to keep Tozer around and Wrexham fans have been discussing his future on social media.

Some believe that Tozer should be kept around, highlighting that he provides valuable experience both on and off the pitch.

Tozer may only be viewed as depth at the back – especially if Wrexham go up – bunt fans can see value in him staying put.

There are some fans who also think that Tozer could take on a playing role alongside starting a coaching career.

Whether that is in Tozer’s plans remains to be seen, but Wrexham players could certainly learn a lot from him if he takes on that dual role.

Wrexham supporters seem to really value Tozer’s personality and leadership, hoping to see him stay at the club even if his playing role diminishes into next season.
