Wrexham salvaged a late draw against Forest Green Rovers tonight as Phil Parkinson’s men served up another disappointing performance.
Wrexham’s assault towards automatic promotion has gone off the boil recently as they’ve collected just two wins from their last nine games.
Phil Parkinson would have targeted tonight’s fixture against strugglers Forest Green Rovers as a chance to get three more points on the board, although the Reds boss knows how difficult it is against a side fighting towards the bottom.
After all, it did take Wrexham till the 85th minute to score a winner against bottom-of-the-table Sutton United two weeks ago.
It looked as though more late heroics would be required tonight when Emmanuel Osadebe put the hosts in front inside three minutes.
The visitors pushed and probed for an equaliser, dominating 75% of the ball but wastefulness in the final third was a theme that has continued to plague Parkinson’s side.
Instead, a poor performance was bailed out by a 93rd-minute Paul Mullin penalty.
It’s a point that could ultimately mean so much come the end of the season, but it hasn’t stopped supporters from raising questions over the Wrexham manager as they continue to be left frustrated by what they are seeing.

After two wins from a possible nine, questions have to be asked about the manager, regardless of where they are in the league.
A point tonight masked what was a bitterly disappointing performance and Parkinson’s reluctance to change the system when it isn’t working has been frustrating, to say the least.
Of course, the players are partly to blame, as they are the ones going out on the pitch, however, you expect a squad of Wrexham’s quality to be doing much better and right now they aren’t.
The only saving grace for the Reds is that only one point separates them from the final automatic promotion spot, but if they continue to perform in this manner, their hopes of reaching League One could quickly slip away.

Often when a team grabs a late equaliser the rest of the 90 minutes is forgotten about.
Sadly, Wrexham have served up too many of these displays in recent months and many supporters think that Parkinson needs to change the system while questions need to be asked about his current decision-making.
Taking to X after the match, one fan said: “Can’t paper over the cracks simply not good enough and haven’t been for a long time”.
Another tweeted: “Don’t let the penalty mask anything, that was another poor performance and its not improving.”
A third commented: “Enough with that 3-5-2/5-3-2 crap, Parky needs to learn how to change, or he needs to be replaced.”
A fourth added: “Questions need to be asked. 5 losses, 2 draws and 2 wins in last 9 games.”
