Everyone in Wrexham knows Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the biggest names in not just football – but the world.
He’s up there with the likes of Ryan Reynolds in terms of stardom. A household name, Ronaldo has played for some of the biggest teams in world football.
Along the way, he’s earned the respect of his peers, managers and the entirety of Earth as a footballing god.
Which is why we can’t help but laugh finding out a Wrexham defender Aaron Hayden once taunted him in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

Aaron Hayden taunts Cristiano Ronaldo
In a hilarious anecdote, former Wrexham striker Jake Hyde revealed that his teammate and, still current Wrexham star, Aaron Hayden once did the ‘Siu’ celebration after scoring – right in front of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking on the ‘RobRyanRed Podcast‘, Hyde recalled the hilarious and unbelievable moment shared between him and his teammates.
“Ronaldo [was] stood there, watching the game from the side,” Hyde began. “So Ronaldo witnessed this himself. Azza (Aaron) did what he does. He got above someone from a corner, and he scored after one minute.
“And he ran off into the corner; all the boys were jogging behind him to congratulate him. He ran off and just went, ‘Siuuuuu!’. All the boys were like, ‘Oh my god, what have I just seen?’. He was buzzing with himself. One of the memorable things I’ve witnessed.”
“That’s a fact, I can confirm,” he concluded.
A hilarious story for Hayden
This is definitely one to tell the grandkids, how you essentially ridiculed one of the all-time greats.
Hayden does have a knack for scoring – as we’ve seen a total of 20 times during his time for the Ted Dragons.
But this has to be the best one ever for sheer comedic value – right?
